Multihulls 2026 of QC Voile en Ville

This weekend marked the final stage of the 2026 F18 provincial circuit: the Multihull Championship of Voile en Ville, back at Baie de Beauport in Québec City.

And Québec means challenges: average 16-foot tides, currents that reverse with the tide, and wind that shifts just as much. We were well served.

Saturday’s forecast called for no wind — to the point that racing looked unlikely. In the end we were sent out around 11 a.m. with a solid 5 knots in the middle of the bay. By the time we got there, the breeze had already danced from one side to the other. We still managed two races in light southerly wind. Then, with the tide change, the wind settled more southwest and built a little. We got two more races in, the last one with a bit of double trapeze.

Sunday looked lighter. By common agreement the goal was two races. Easterly breeze: it started strong at 10 knots, then we were quickly hiking hard and fighting the current. We still completed both races, the last one finishing almost in front of the Château Frontenac.

The lucky presence of Québec’s many channel markers let us start all those races with little waiting. A big thank-you to our commodore Pierre Felteau for adapting so well to the conditions.

In the end, Maxime Loiselle and Patrick Caux stood on the top step of the stage podium.

This was the decisive event for the 2026 provincial circuit standings: Olivier Pilon and Bastien Mony finish on top — no surprise.
